The 4 Rs Reporting |
“Reporting” refers to telling your doctor or health care provider accurate details of self-tests and observations that you have kept track of. It means taking the responsibility of being your own reporter - asking and answering for yourself the who, what, when, why, and how questions in the same way that reporters probe and cover a news story.
For example: Who – Me.
What – Means listing your symptoms. For example: I’ve been running a fever of 101 F for 48 hours. My throat is sore. It looks red, but I don’t see any white pus when I look at it with a flashlight in the mirror. My legs are weak. I feel lousy all over.
When – It started 2 days ago, but I noticed feeling extra tired and grumpy a day before that. It also bothers me most at night.
Why – I think it might be because people at work are sick with a virus. I know of one other person who has strep throat, though.
How – So far, I’ve been drinking cold fluids and taking Sucrets to numb the pain in my throat as well as Tylenol every 4 hours.
